SPIRITUS

SPIRITUS Bench is inspired by the energetic atmosphere experienced in Singapore' Sports Hub. SPIRITUS Bench is proposed to be located at the water front of the Sports Hub which has a beautiful views of the Singapore' landscape. The location is very strategic for visitors to have quick rest or a longer relaxing time.

Constructed from the Old National Stadium iron wood, SPIRITUS could bring back the memory of the Old National Stadium. Through it's preserved materials and the modern design inspired by the New National Stadium, SPIRITUS is able to preserving memories and lifting up spirit at the same time.

Re:Bench is a design competition that celebrates the story of the Singapore National Stadium. Just as the torch was handed from the old to the new stadium, it marks the passing of design reins to a younger generation of design talents.
The competition continues the ‘bench’ and ‘Pick a bench, pick a place’ initiatives that commemorated the former stadium with the first set of benches made out of its seating planks. Re:Bench is part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s continuing efforts to promote a greater appreciation of Singapore’s urban landscape and public spaces.
